Recently, customers have reported significant shrinkage issues with amino baking finishes, making the use of silicone-based anti-shrinkage additives less desirable. After conducting tests on various types of products, the Deco Additive Application Center has developed a product that effectively solves the shrinkage problem without affecting the ability to recoat.

DCA-2781 is a novel fluorine-modified polyacrylic levelling agent that demonstrates outstanding compatibility and excellent anti-shrinkage properties. Test results have shown that DCA-2781 performs exceptionally well in preventing shrinkage issues, while maintaining the ability to recoat in high-temperature paint systems. It meets the requirements for oil resistance in solvent-based paint systems. A comparison with fluorinated wetting agents reveals that although they may have higher fluorine content, they can lead to excessively low surface tension in the system after dispersion, resulting in significant orange peel effect. Therefore, for solvent-based paint systems, fluorine-containing levelling agents offer distinct advantages in addressing the appearance of oil shrinkage.
